she appears from the shadows to beckon a chase

her radiance beaming like a full moon's light

an alluring vision, my feet take flight.



through darkened fields I make my chase

her laughter reveals her, I win this race

She ducks, she dodges, she falls to the ground

with loving embrace, two hearts are bound



her eyes steal mine in a blanket of night

the mist surrounds us, a shroud from light

with honey dew lips she dims the world

a mind arrested, a heart unfurled



we rise to walk the winding snake

hand in hand, down to a lake

she nears the edge to cast our reflection

frozen and startled by my image's defection



with fear withdrawn and the moon at its crest

she draws forward and envelopes my chest
